EcoMS Consulting is a leading business advisory company operating in the Polish market. The company employs approximately 50 highly specialized experts. Its team consists of professionals with extensive experience in industry and consulting, focusing on management, quality standards, environmental protection, work safety, machine safety, food production standards, and fire safety. EcoMS serves over 700 clients and conducts approximately 2,500 audit days annually. This significant scale of operation positions EcoMS as a critical business partner in compliance and risk management. Facing increasing demands and the limitations of outdated internal systems, EcoMS partnered with Rite NRG for a critical digital transformation initiative: the development of a custom, high-complexity Web Application, known as the Audit Management Platform. This platform was specifically engineered to manage the complexity of 3000+ legal requirements and the overall project collaboration spanned approximately 2 years , aimed at securing business continuity and establishing a competitive edge through technology.
The Challenge
EcoMS faced several core operational and technological hurdles that threatened their market position and efficiency:
- Manual overload: The audit workflow, encompassing preparation and finalization, was severely hampered by manual processes, requiring auditors to spend several days of manual work in total.
- Business critical legacy risk: EcoMS relied on an internal, proprietary database of legal requirements – the foundational element of their compliance services. This system was legacy and approaching its end-of-life, posing a critical threat to business continuity and their ability to ensure their clients remained compliant with the law.
- Field mobility: Auditors required a solution that could be used directly on-site (e.g., in factories or warehouses), where internet connectivity is often unstable or nonexistent.
- Client engagement gap: EcoMS observed low active utilization of its existing system and lacked a modern channel for client interaction. Customers could not easily access audit results online, track compliance status, or provide feedback on remediated deficiencies.
- Full-service partnership: As a non-technical company, EcoMS was looking for a technology partner that truly understood their complex compliance business domain and was capable of handling the entire software development lifecycle, from initial business analysis and wireframing through development, deployment, and ongoing support.

Rite NRG architected and delivered a modern, cloud-based solution using a Progressive Web App (PWA) framework, tailored to streamline the entire audit process and enhance client engagement.
Key features of the developed platform:
Contextual audit scoping: The platform was designed to automate the selection of legal requirements based on the auditor’s input (e.g., area of compliance). For existing clients, the platform also incorporates previous audit history and comments, providing auditors with a contextualized, customized list of requirements, eliminating the time-consuming manual selection process.
Offline functionality: By choosing PWA, Rite NRG enabled full offline capability. Auditors could conduct inspections on tablets—taking photos and recording findings—without stable internet, with all data seamlessly synchronizing upon reconnection.
New Sales Funnel: A secure portal allows EcoMS customers to view their audit results instantly online, track their overall compliance index, submit comments, and confirm that deficiencies have been corrected. This transparency opened a new sales channel, as clients with a low compliance index would proactively contact EcoMS for remedial services, driving upselling opportunities.
Cloud-Native design: The platform was designed as a modern, Cloud-Native application hosted entirely within the stable Microsoft Azure Cloud. This robust, scalable architecture was implemented using various Azure services, including Azure WebApp (for hosting the application logic), Azure SQL (for the database), and Azure Blob Storage (for data storage). Built using technologies like .NET Core and React, this foundation ensures the system is ready for massive growth and serves as a stable backbone for all future enhancements and migration efforts for other outdated legacy systems.
Embedded image capture: The solution integrates photo attachment capability (leveraging tablet functionality) directly into the audit process. This feature, embodying the maxim that a picture is worth a thousand words, significantly accelerates documentation and clarification of findings.
The project was executed using the SCRUM Agile methodology, featuring two-week sprints and regular demos, ensuring transparency and alignment with EcoMS’s legal experts acting as Product Owners. The initial concept phase, including detailed requirements and mockups, was completed in one month.

The robust architecture was built to ensure scalability, reliability, and security within the Microsoft Azure Cloud environment. The application utilizes a modern stack, with the Frontend providing cross-platform compatibility and the user interface built using Progressive Web App (PWA) technology and React. The core Backend logic, including API development and database communication, is powered by .NET Core and Entity Framework. The infrastructure is managed using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), specifically Terraform, to automate deployment and configuration across Azure services like Azure WebApp, Azure SQL (for the database), and Azure Blob Storage (for data storage).
